Summer 2023 – Spring 2025

These event graphics were created during my graphic design internship with Illinois State University’s Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality department. They supported a range of student events hosted at the Bone Student Center, Watterson Dining Center, and Marketplace at Linkins. Each event required graphics in multiple formats for both print and digital use.

Deliverables included print flyers for residence halls, digital signage for display screens in the student and dining centers, and animated Instagram stories for the @redbird_life and @redbird_food accounts to be posted the day of the event.

Most designs featured custom illustrations, with some incorporating photography. The goal was to create visually engaging content that captured students’ attention and clearly communicated key event details. Some pieces followed specific creative direction from event organizers, while others allowed for more open-ended exploration.

This internship gave me the opportunity to experiment with typography, color, pattern, and composition—learning how these elements may work together to create cohesive, dynamic visuals. It also allowed me to further develop my illustration skills. The main challenge was designing content that resonated with a diverse student audience and encouraged participation.
