Event Graphics | Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, & Procreate
These event graphics were created during my graphic design internship with the Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality department at Illinois State University. The graphics were developed for a variety of student events hosted at the Bone Student Center, as well as dining center events at Watterson Dining Center and Marketplace at Linkins. Each event required graphics in multiple formats and sizes, intended for both print and digital use. Specific deliverables included 8.5×11-inch flyers for posting in residence halls, 1920×1080 digital signage to be displayed on screens in the Bone Student Center and dining centers, and Instagram animations for the @rebird_life and @redbird_food Instagram accounts to promote the events on the day they occurred.
Most of the event graphics featured illustrations to visually promote the events, with some designs combining illustrations with photography. The goal was to create engaging, visually appealing designs that effectively communicated the key details of each event in a way that would capture students’ attention and encourage participation. Some designs were inspired by specific ideas or requests from the event organizers, while others allowed for more creative freedom.
This experience gave me the opportunity to experiment with various design elements, including typography, color, pattern, and form, and to explore how these elements can work together to produce cohesive and dynamic visuals. Ultimately, the challenge was to create graphics that would resonate with a diverse student audience and drive engagement across multiple platforms.
